Give up, Gecko! It is a folktale from Uganda that is retold by Margaret Read MacDonald, and illustrated by Deborah Melmon. The story is about a group of animals spent days and days waiting for rain and they are so thirsty! Finally, they decide to dig water for them to drink. Will any of the animals stomp a hole deep enough to reach water? Let’s find out.
