在第十集的節目中,我們會告訴大家目前藝廊在銷售藝術品時,有那些不為人知的商業取向,例如:複製原畫、肖像畫、復買回機制…等等。其中,復買回的服務已被當成金融操作的手段,奠基在權威的估價系統之上。

當代藝術的買賣中,存在著兩種價格訂定:一是對已存在的藝術品定價,二是對未來的藝術品定價。當我們試圖去找尋未來的高價藝術品時,就必須將作品價值列入討論;作品價值本來是藝術家的主觀認定,而這種主觀認定是否受到未來的市場機制的認可跟追捧,就需深入思考藝術品的趣味趨勢中價格與價值之間的關聯。

藝術家要如想站在趣味趨勢的浪頭上,首先他的藝術作品需具備傳播性,如何做到傳播性呢?簡單來說便是作品差異化,其中「引人入勝的故事」是組成差異的重要部分,當藝術家和他的藝術品被廣為傳播時,藝術家便有了名氣,藝術品的價格便能提升。

那麼,是誰在主宰趣味的走向?趣味的趨勢是否能被炒作?

2018年10月英國藝術家班格西(Banksy)的畫作「女孩與氣球」,在蘇富比夜拍專場上以新台幣約4100萬的價格拍出時,幾乎與落槌聲同時響起的警鈴震驚了所有人,更令人吃驚的是這幅畫作便緩緩下降,被隱藏在畫框內的碎紙機碎成條狀,更加不可思議的是得標的買家仍堅持以得標原價買下這幅已碎成條狀的作品……所以這個故事的衝擊力是非常強大的。

趣味趨勢的發生與轉移常是不可掌控與預知的,我們唯有將眼光放遠以200年的長度來思考,並衡量自身的審美能力,放棄功利思維,將本身的收藏以象徵性交換入手,不要只以投資增值為唯一考量,堅持個人化趣味眼光,長遠看來,收藏家都會收到歡天喜地的結果。

In the tenth episode of the program, we will tell you about the unknown commercial orientations of art galleries when selling artworks, such as copying original paintings, portrait paintings, repurchase mechanisms… etc. Among them, the repurchased service has been regarded as a means of financial operations, based on an authoritative valuation system.

In the buying and selling of contemporary art, there are two kinds of price setting: one is to price existing works of art, and the other is to price future works of art. When we try to find high-priced artworks in the future, we must include the value of the work in the discussion; the value of the work is originally the artist’s subjective determination, and whether this subjective determination is recognized and sought after by the future market mechanism requires in-depth thinking. The relationship between price and value in the interesting trend of art.

If an artist wants to stand on the wave of interesting tendency, first of all his works of art need to be communicative, how to be communicative? Simply put, it is the differentiation of the works, in which the "fascinating story" is an important part of the difference. When the artist and his artwork are widely disseminated, the artist gains fame and the price of the artwork can increase.

So, who is in charge of the interesting tendency? Can the tendency of interesting be hyped?

In October 2018, when the British artist Banksy's painting "Girl with Balloon" was sold at Sotheby’s Night Sale for about NT$41 million, the alarm bell that rang almost at the same time as the hammer fell was shocked. For everyone, what’s more surprising is that the painting slowly descended and was shredded into strips by a shredder hidden in the frame. What’s even more incredible is that the winning buyer still insisted on buying it at the original price. The work is broken into strips…so the impact of this story is very powerful.

The occurrence and transfer of interest trends are often uncontrollable and predictable. We can only think about 200 years in length, and measure our own aesthetic ability, give up utilitarian thinking, and start with symbolic exchange of our own collection. Don't just take investment appreciation as the only consideration, and stick to a personal and interesting vision. In the long run, collectors will receive happy results.
